Matching Toenails

I painted Cambri's toenails for the first time.  I did it while she was asleep because I thought it would be easier.  She still twitched a time or two but I think I did pretty good for how tiny her little toenails are.  After I did her toenails I did mine the same!

Picures

Here are some pictures I toke of Cambri today.  I can't believe she is 6 weeks old!

Cute Sleeper

Here are a couple of pics of Cambri sleeping in this cute, perfect little pose.

1 Month Birthday!

I can't believe how fast my little princess is growing!  She can focus on things more now and is so long now. She is a good sleeper and good eater.  She loves to cuddle and be held and she rarely cries still.  She likes going on car rides and her favorite thing is to have her hair washed or played with.  She makes the cutest little squeaks and sighs. She is a binky addict and goes through withdraws without it.  She is so sweet and calm all the time and is so fun to have in our home, she is truly a little angel and we love her so so much.  We are so lucky to have little Cambri in our family!

On Cambri's 1 month birthday we toke her out in public for the first time.  We toke her to a Mexican restaurant in Springville called Joe Bandito's (I don't know how to spell it).  She stayed covered in her car seat and slept the whole time. Later that night we toke her to a wedding reception of a friend of ours who went to Mexico with Chappy on a study abroad.

At the reception there was a band playing some music and Cambri got to dance with her daddy for the first time.  She did The Twist, The Boot Scoot and Boogy and the Chicken Dance.  She really liked dancing with her dad.  After I finished snapping like a million pictures of them I joined them for a little swing and slow dancing, it was so fun to dance he three of us, I didn't get any pictures of that because I was busy but we were pretty cute together.

Cousins

Cambri is grandchild number 7 on McKay's side and grandchild number 1 on my side.  My sister had the 2nd grandchild 9 days after Cambri was born.  My mom is so excited to be a grandma of 2 little girls and we are so excited for them to grow up together.  It's a lot of fun because the 2 girls are so different in the way they look and in personality as well. Here are some cute pics of the cousins.

Cambri and Zoe taking a nap together (right now this is their favorite thing to do together)

Hanging with the family at my sisters house.

Faces

One thing about Cambri is she has hundreds of faces that she makes.  It's sometimes hard to capture them in a picture but we do have some.  Her faces she makes cracks me up, she is so fun to just look at!

March 30th 2011

Cambri was born at 9:45 pm on 03/30/2011.  She was 7 lbs. 15 oz. and 21 inches long.  She was born with lots of dark hair and a sweet calming spirit.

We were scheduled to go in and have her induced that morning.  We arrived at the hospital at 6:30 am. We checked and the nurses asked me a bunch of questions and it was about 8 am by the time they got me on the pitocin drip, I was dilated to 3 centimeters at the time.

The dr. came in about an hour later and broke my water.  They told me that it was just a waiting game from there and to try and relax.  They told McKay he could have all the snacks he wanted from the snack room and showed him where some movies were.  We decided to watch a movie while we waited.  The nurses toke great care of us.  I was dilating about 1 centimeter an hour up until I got to an 8, I stayed at an 8 for a couple of hours and a 9 for another couple of hours.

Finally at about 8 pm I was at almost a 10 so the dr. said if I start pushing I would probably get to a 10.  I started pushing and I did dilated to a 10.  After a while of pushing my dr. told me that my pelvis may be too small for her to fit through and we may have to do a c-section. He told me that we could either keep trying or just do the c-section and that it was up to me.  I told him I wanted to keep trying for a bit longer.  After about an hour and 10 minutes of pushing the dr. said that with every push she was making progress but once I was done pushing she would go back in.  He said that at this point it would be safer for the baby and for me if we did a c-section because if her head made it through the birth canal and her shoulders got stuck then that would be really bad.

We decided to do the c-section.  At about this point I started getting really cold.  While the dr. and McKay got dressed and ready for he c-section the nurses kept putting more blankets on me.  Finally they ended up completely wrapping me in these big heated blankets.  The c-section went well, I didn't even know when they made the cut.  When she was finally born I didn't even hear her cry because it was so soft.

After 12 hours of labor, an hour and 10 minutes of pushing and then a c-section combined with the drugs I was really out of it but I remember looking at her and thinking "There really was a baby in there".  I remember thinking how beautiful she was and what a miracle this was.  I couldn't believe that she was real.

Here are a few pictures! I uploaded them in backwards order on accident.

 All cleaned and bundled up.

Getting her hair washed, she loves this.

 First bath.

First family picture, can you see me?

 Getting her lungs tested.
My dr. knows my sister in law Marianne and since she is a nurse he let her watch in the room.  This i Marianne and McKay right before the c-section.
